Greg Sheppard became the Managing
Partner of Maladinas Lawyers in 1994, and
continued in that role after the merger of
Maladinas with Young & Williams Lawyers in
2004.
He was admitted as a Barrister and
Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western
Australia in 1990. He is also admitted to the
High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of
Queensland. He was admitted to practice in Papua
New Guinea in 1990.
He was a Principal in private
practice in Kalgoorlie, West Australia for a
number of years. Thereafter, he practiced as a
Crown Prosecutor in Queensland,
Australia.
Greg is a very successful advocate
and has appeared as Counsel before Courts and
Administrative Tribunals at all levels in a
variety of jurisdictions including Appellate
Courts. He has acted for a number of prominent
clients in Papua New Guinea, including Prime
Ministers, Ministers of State and businessmen.
He is experienced in negotiating, drawing and
settling resource based corporate and commercial
documentation. He has wide knowledge of public
law and judicial review of administrative
decisions.
He is an expert in the technical
and complex law relating to the pleading and
trial of Election Petitions, and has acted in
these matters subsequent to every National
general election since 1992. He has appeared for
clients in Leadership Tribunal hearings on many
occasions.
Greg acts as a Consultant when
required, advising law firms in the Solomon
Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji.
He has been previously the Chairman
Board of Governors Murray International School,
Port Moresby and chairman Interim Board of
Governors of Murray and Ela Beach International
School, a Board member of the International
Education Agency of Papua New Guinea, and a
former member of the PNG Lands Board.

HARVEY MALADINA |

Mr.
Maladina is currently a Partner with Young &
Williams Lawyers. He was admitted to practice at
the National and Supreme Court of Papua New
Guinea in 1989 and in 2000 the New South Wales
Supreme Court of Australia.
Harvey founded the firm Maladinas Lawyers
(which merged with Young & Williams Lawyers)
in 1993, four (4) years after completing the
Legal Training Institute. The firm set up its
practice in the cental business district of Port
Moresby. Prior to that, he worked for Day &
Associates and Henao Priestley
lawyers.
Harvey has provided advice for a number
of renowned commercial entities including Banks
and Finance companies, in particular drafting,
settling and registering their security
documents and providing general advice on them.
Harvey has also been engaged by Provincial
Governments and their business arms, Government
departments and Statutory Corporations. With
Statutory Corporations, he has advised
management on their corporate structure, debt
collecting mechanism and the powers and
functions of their board of directors.
In
1997, Harvey was appointed the Chairman of the
Investment Corporation of Papua New Guinea.
During his term as chairman he successfully
moved his board of directors to pass resolution
to ensure contributors of the fund participated
in the upgrading of prominent city hotels the
"Crown Plaza" and "Holiday Inn" to five (5) star
resorts. He also served and protected the
contributor's funds with honesty and integrity.
Harvey is a current member of the PNG Law
Society and a keen follower of the sport of
rugby union, having represented his country in
1987.

A graduate of Survey University in England (BSC Hons) in 1974 and ANU in Canberra (LLB) in 1984. He was admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea in 1992.
He has practiced in and has a combined knowledge of both Commercial documentation and litigation procedures.
Instructed by the National and Provincial Government Statutory Bodies, Forest Industry Participants, and commercial firms, he adopts a proactive approach in obtaining the necessary evidence before identifying and assessing legal issues and providing pragmatic advice.
He understands and has adapted to the challenges of working in a Melanesian environment.

KENNETH FRANK |

Kenneth Frank was admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea in 1990. He commenced with Gadens Ridgeway (now Gadens Lawyers) and was with them for 5 years. Thereafter, he was engaged by the National Provident Fund as a lawyer and Company Secretary, becoming familiar with superannuation and estate litigation.
Kenneth joined Maladinas Lawyers in 1998. He has extensive experience in the areas of civil litigation, banking law, trusts, leases, matrimonial law, bankruptcy and conveyancing. He advises Provincial Governments on a variety of matters.

Francis Griffin was admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea in 2003, and commenced with Maladinas Lawyers.
Francis is a litigator and appears regularly in the National and Supreme Courts in interlocutory matters and in trials, and draws necessary pleadings. He has instructed overseas senior counsel in National and Supreme court proceedings. He has appeared before leadership tribunals, workers compensation tribunals and commissions of inquiry.
He has also had experience in the areas of constitutional law, administrative law, land law, natural resources law (forests, mining and petroleum), election petitions and criminal law.

Gloria Salika was admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea in 2007 and commenced employment with Young & Williams in 2008.

NOEL KERA |

Noel Kera joined Young & Wiliams Lawyers in 2005 shortly after admission to practice in Papua New Guinea.
He holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Papua New Guinea and a Master of Law from Monash University in Victoria, Australia.
He mainly deals with litigation, particular in the areas of personal injuries, insurance and company law. Previously, he was resposible for the firm's Intellectual Property portfolio and continues to assist when required.

Phillip Tabuchi was admitted to practice law in Papua New Guinea in 2010 and commenced employment with Young & Williams in 2011.

Brian Andrew has been with the Firm since 1999 as Senior Associate. He was admitted to practice in New South Wales in 1970, and is also admitted to practice in Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory and the High Court of Australia. He was admitted in Papua New Guinea in 1971. Brian practises for the most part in the field of civil litigation. He appears in the National and Supreme Courts in complex matters including appeals, judicial review and Constitutional References. He is experienced in the area of landowner disputes, and in the pleading and trial of Election Petitions.
Brian spent some 15 years after his admission in PNG in the then Department of Law. He occupied senior positions in the Department including Assistant Secretary for Justice and State Solicitor. He held the position of Principal Magistrate, Papua for a period of 4 years. He has a very wide experience of advising Government Departments and Statutory Corporations, including advice to Provincial Governments.
In 1985, he founded the Kooralbyn International School in Kooralbyn Valley, Queensland and from 1985 to 1989 he was the CEO of the School and the Chairman of the Board. Thereafter, he practised as a Principal in private practice in Boonah, Queensland for some five years.
Upon his return to PNG at the end of 1995, he again occupied the position of Assistant Secretary, Department of Attorney General, working directly to the Attorney General and providing advice to the National and Provincial governments on all aspects of public law.

Graduated with an Honours Degree in Law from Queensland Institute of Technology in 1984 and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland (1987) as a Solicitor and to the National Court of Papua New Guinea as a Solicitor and a Barrister (1987);
Spent six years in Papua New Guinea (1987-1992) as a 50% Owner and Managing Partner of Papua New Guinea Law Firm with offices in Port Moresby , Lae and Mount Hagen with 14 solicitors and 40 support staff;
Up until 2010 was the owner of Law Firms in Australia and the Principal of a corporate consultancy business advising legal and accounting firms, financial institutions, major property developers, high net worth individuals and private and public companies.
Significant Commercial, Corporate and Property Law experience and business experience at a senior level resulted in Bryan returning to Papua New Guinea in early 2010 to assist Young & Williams in providing first class Commercial, Corporate and Property legal services to its clients;
Possesses a great understanding of a wide range of commercial and contractual matters affecting businesses. Works closely with his clients to achieve his client's objectives and offers practical commercial advice and solutions;

Christine Copland was admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea in 2001 and commenced employment with Maladinas Lawyers. She was appointed an associate with Young & Williams Lawyers in 2006.
Christine is a litigator, and is experienced in Election Petition law, family law, judicial review, leadership tribunals and Supreme Court appeals. She appears regularly in the courts.
She passed the Victorian Bar Readers Course, Melbourne, Victoria in 2002 and passed the Mediation Course at Bond University, Gold Coast, Queensland in 2006.
